Jupiter conjunct Neptune in 2022

What will Neptune and Jupiter transiting through Pisces brings us this winter and spring?

Ok. So I’m watching the news today (February 11) and the newscasters are talking about how the pandemic is on its way out, and how numerous states plan to lift mask mandates in schools at the beginning of March.

I would like to see Covid-19 go away as much as the next person, but I believe this spells trouble. We just witnessed a huge spike in cases due to the Omicron variant over the Holidays. It was at a high in January and now in mid-February the surge has finally waned. BUT the virus is still lurking out there. Here we go again!

Neptune in Pisces

Let’s look at the astrology. Neptune rules viruses because it rules intangibles, and the things that are invisible in our lives. A virus is something we cannot see. Neptune also rules dissolution, that is to say the elimination of boundaries. A virus survives through transmission from one host to another, and with no boundaries a virus thrives!

Neptune is currently transiting the sign of Pisces. Pisces is co-ruled by Jupiter (ancient) and Neptune (modern). Planets placed in the sign they rule experience the energy of the planet and sign in its purest form. Unfortunately, with the limitless and boundless energy this transit brings, it conducive to virus transmission.

Jupiter in Pisces

Now, throw in the transit of the planet JupiterJupiter also entered the sign of Pisces on December 30, 2021 and it will meet up with Neptune in the sky with an exact conjunction on April 10, 2022 at 23° of Pisces. Jupiter is the planet of luck, growth and expansion. Whatever planet or point in your chart Jupiter touches; it will expand its energy and make it bigger. And Jupiter wants to go BIG. The energy of Jupiter can bring optimism, and combined with Neptune, also the planet of idealism, we think nothing can go wrong!  Deception, especially self-deception, can be greatly exaggerated by this transit. And that is not a favorable energy for reducing the spread of a virus.

Jupiter in Pisces Dates:

Ingresses into Pisces on December 30, 2021
Conjuncts Neptune in Pisces April 9-12, 2022 at 23° of Pisces
Leaves Pisces and ingresses into Aries on May 10, 2022

Masks will come off the beginning of March, a possible spike in Covid-19 a month later, around April 10 would be consistent with what happened in December and January. Time will tell. I think it will surge again this spring. For the time being, I plan to still wear my mask when in public and continue to social distance.

Other Jupiter-Neptune Possibilities

There are numerous other possibilities this conjunction could bring that are not related to the virus. Examples would be: significant flooding; an intense period of inflation; a bubble bursting in a market (real estate?); increased spirituality; spiritual ecstasy (hysteria); more active and vivid dreaming; great movies and music; religious/spiritual law; more lying; denial (self deception); obvious addictive behaviors; more gambling or risk-taking; and MORE media disinformation/fake news.

Venus and Mars

Venus-Mercury Retrograde Cycles in February, 2022

Retrogades are an excellent time to review projects and decisions that have to be made, but not necessarily the best time to make those decisions. Once the planets go direct then forward action will have better results

Mercury Cycle

December 29, 2021. Mercury enters Retrograde Arc. Tropical. 24° Capricorn 22’

December 30, 2021. Mercury conjoins Pluto. Tropical. 25° Capricorn 53′

January 14, 2022. Mercury stations Retrograde. 11:41. Tropical. 10° Aquarius 20′

January 23, 2022. Sun-Mercury Inferior Conjunction. 10:27Tropical. 03° Aquarius 22′. (Conjunction is midway through the retrograde cycle.)

January 29, 2022. Retrograde Mercury conjoins Pluto. Tropical. 26° Capricorn 51′.

February 4, 2022. Mercury stations Direct. 4:12. Tropical. 24° Capricorn 22’

February 11, 2022. Mercury conjoins Pluto. Tropical. 27° Capricorn 16′

February 24, 2022. Mercury leaves Retrograde Arc. Tropical. 10° Aquarius 20′

Venus Cycle

November 17, 2021. Venus enters Retrograde Arc or Shadow. Tropical. 11° Capricorn 04’

December 11, 2021. Venus conjoins Pluto. Tropical. 25° Capricorn 19’

December 19, 2021. Venus Stations Retrograde. 6:44. Tropical 26° Capricorn 29’

December 25, 2021. Retrograde Venus conjoins Pluto. Tropical. 25° Capricorn 43’

January 9, 2022. Sun-Venus Inferior Conjunction. 0:47. Tropical. 18° Capricorn 43’. The conjunction is midway through the retrograde cycle, after which Venus rises as a Morning Star.

January 29, 2022. Venus Stations Direct. 6:48. Tropical. 11° Capricorn 04’

March 2, 2022. Venus leaves Retrograde Arc or Shadow. Tropical 26° Capricorn 29’

March 3, 2022. Venus conjoins Pluto. Tropical. 27° Capricorn 50’ (All times GMT)

Venus went direct on January 29 and Mercury went direct on February 4 and even though they are regaining their speed and moving forward, they will still conjoin the degrees in between their retrograde and direct stations. The degrees in between the retrograde and direct stations are hot.

The degree where the planet enters the retrograde arc (shadow) is the degree where the planet eventually stations direct. The degree where the planet leaves the retrograde arc is the degree where the planet stationed retrograde.

If you look at the above lists you will see that Venus and Mercury are situated in between the degree in which they go direct (Mercury on February 4 and Venus on January 29) and the day they leave the retrograde arc. That means that Mercury is still within its retrograde arc or shadow until it leaves on February 24. Venus is still within its retrograde arc or shadow until it leaves on March 2.

The most activated degrees are between 24-27 Tropical Capricorn

Since the degrees in between the retrograde stations are hot, if you have a planet, point, or angle there Mercury or Venus will still hit it one more time. That means that you may have had communication issues if the transiting planet is Mercury, or you may have relationship or financial snafus if Venus. They are no longer retrograde, but there still may be things that you have had to rethink in the last couple months, and now finally everything you have been contemplating will now bring clarity. If you have anything on the same degree (or one to two degrees away) as the upcoming Mercury Pluto conjunction and upcoming Venus Pluto conjunction then that applies especially to you since this particular Mercury or Venus retrograde may have been more problematic because they have conjoined three times, though not on the same degree. Pluto moves so slowly so if you do have a planet, point, or angle between 25-27 Tropical Capricorn, you have been feeling the transit of Pluto transforming whatever that planet, point, or angle represents in your chart.

Mercury will then leave the intensity behind once it continues to move forward and re-enters tropical Aquarius on February 14.

Venus will leave the intensity behind once it re-enters Tropical Aquarius on March 6.

Take advantage of the clarity you will start to feel now as these two personal planets, which have been retrograde combined over the last few months, allow you to move forward. Remember that retrogades are an excellent time to review projects and decisions that have to be made but not necessarily the best time to make those decisions. Think about everyting you may have reviewed and revised and hopefully things will move forward with positivity.

Remember that the third and last Mercury-Pluto conjunction occurs on February 11 and the third and last Venus-Pluto conjunction occurs on March 3 at tropical 27 Capricorn.

Change meets Resistance – Uranus enters Taurus

Here Comes the Transit of Uranus in Taurus!

In just a couple of days the planet Uranus leaves the sign of Aries and enters into the sign of Taurus, where it will remain until 2025. Uranus takes 84 years to travel around the Sun, therefore it spends approximately 7 years in each zodiac sign as it completes its full rotation. This astrological transit will have significant and long lasting effects on the world. It enters Taurus on 5/16 and then it retrogrades back into Aries on 11/6/18. Then it re-enters Taurus again on 3/7/19 where it will remain until 7/7/25.

The Planet of Change meets the Sign of Habit

Uranus is known as the planet of change. It rules change, disruption, sudden or shocking events and unpredictability. It also rules technology, electricity, progressive thinking, innovation, rebellion, and humanitarianism. Uranus has been in the sign of Aries since 2011 and Aries is the most self-directed sign of the zodiac. Uranus in the “It’s all about me” sign of Aries brought us things like Facebook, the Smartphone and the “Selfie”. Technological things to express our individuality and showcase ourselves. Aries also rules war so things like cyber warfare, drone technology, and the Arab Spring came along during this time as well. Uranus’s move from Aries into to Taurus will be a dramatic change.

The characteristics of the sign of Taurus are predictability, stability, habit, and stubbornness. It wants to solidify things, and is the sign in the zodiac that is the MOST resistant to change. Taurus rules possessions, material wealth, ownership, banking & finance, currency, agriculture, territory, beauty, and our sensory satisfaction. Taurus defines our sense of security. Most of all, the sign of Taurus shows us what we VALUE.

Needless to say, when the planet of change meets the sign most resistant to change there can be some trouble. Uranus is in its Fall in the sign of Taurus and doesn’t function well there. Taurus will strongly resist what Uranus brings, sort of like a jackhammer trying to break up cement.

What Can We Expect?

In the next seven years we will probably experience some great changes surrounding banking and currency. Cryptocurrencies, like Bitcoin, may become impactful on the world economy. Other digital currencies may be invented. Unpredictable changes to currency like inflation or deflation can occur. Brexit or other countries leaving the EU could bring some big surprises.

The sign of Taurus is an Earth sign. Unpredictable Uranus in an earth sign can bring unexpected events such as eruptions, earthquakes or tsunamis or other unforeseen earth changes.

We will probably see great inventions for agriculture and more efficient ways to bring food to the masses. Electric cars could become popular and new inventions in beauty products or healing therapies are possible. We will see exciting new approaches to art and design.

Taurus rules what we value both personally and as a nation so we can expect some significant changes in these areas. Our attitudes towards money, industry, and land may change suddenly and drastically.

History to Look Back On

Looking back on history the last time Uranus was in Taurus was 1934 to 1941, and before that was 1851 to 1859.  These were time periods of political polarization and economic downturn that preceded major wars. Unfortunately, polarization is one unpleasant manifestation of Uranus in Taurus where ideologies (Uranus) become so entrenched (Taurus) that there can be no agreement.

1934- 1941

One month after Uranus entered Taurus in 1934 Hitler gained control over Germany and declared himself the Fuhrer. Hitler rose to power by delivering a powerful populist message to a discouraged German population looking for political and economic change. After he became Fuhrer his fanatical quest for a perfect race took over and fascism was solidified in Europe. Hitler turned out to be a polarizing figure indeed. When World War II came along in 1939 it was a battle between the Allied powers versus the Axis powers.

1851-1859

I read some US history to learn more about the 1850-1859 time period. The general backdrop to this decade was the Industrial Revolution. In 1851 California was made a state in the union and had a tremendous boom with the Gold Rush (currency from the earth).

At that time the American west was still a series of territories (to become AZ, NM, UT, OR, KS and NE). Railroads were built for increased access to these territories. Demand for US grain around the world boosted and streamlined agriculture production. The number of US Banks doubled during these profitable years, and that led to the over-extension of easy credit.

Unfortunately, in 1857 there was an economic panic. The gold in California started to run out. As a result gold, which backed the US dollar, was devalued. This led to many financial bankruptcies, as debts were unable to be repaid. There was high unemployment and worker demonstrations. This painful economic period lasted for a couple of years, and created intense political divides between the North and the South. Please read more on this in the NY Times Archive.

The division between the North and South over slavery was the primary political problem of the decade. The expansion into new land territories led to a face off between the supporters of slavery and  abolitionists over its legality. The intense polarization between the political parties and regional areas laid the groundwork for the Civil War. Please read more at nscu.edu on this history.

The Cement and the Jackhammer

I don’t expect this transit to bring much change from our current political or business leaders at first. They represent the cement of Taurus. The unexpected events that Uranus brings will be the jackhammer that hits against them. It may be a while before they start to move.

It will be interesting to look back seven years from now and see how our personal and national values have changed and what the effects of Uranus in Taurus came to pass. Our nation will have to make a conscious effort toward unity, compromise and understanding to enjoy the good things that this transit can bring us.

Saturn Enters the Sign of Capricorn

Get ready to tighten your belts!

On December 20, 2017, the planet Saturn will leave the freedom-loving and expansive sign of Sagittarius and enter (known as ingress) the sign of Capricorn. Saturn spends approximately 2.5 years in an astrological sign and it will be interesting to see how this shift in energy will affect our society as a collective.

When I look at my own chart’s transits I always look to see what houses (areas of life) Jupiter and Saturn are traveling through. Jupiter, the planet of growth and expansion, tells me what area of the life I will experience some luck and have more favorable circumstances. While the house that Saturn is in is the place I will have to work harder, find patience and perseverance and have to solve problems.

Saturn is known as the taskmaster of the zodiac. It rules work, discipline, responsibility, limitations, reality, structure, time, restrictions and depression. Ever go through a rough patch in your life where time seems to slow down and getting through the day seems harder? You were probably experiencing a stressful Saturn transit. The good news about Saturn is that it brings wisdom, realistic thinking, efficiency, productivity and the rewards for hard work over time. We NEED to experience Saturn to mature in life.

The sign of Capricorn is ruled by Saturn and is the planet’s natural home. Capricorn is a cardinal (initiating) earth (material) sign. It is the sign of the builder and is concerned with ambition, efficiency, and practicality. Capricorn rules big business and government as it represents large structures (Saturn).

Saturn puts a limit on what it ever it touches. I’ve been contemplating its shift into Capricorn in relation to big business i.e. Corporate America. Saturn’s presence in Capricorn will probably have a belt-tightening effect. Businesses will want to build, be more ambitious, more productive and more efficient but profit margins may become tighter. To be successful their approach it will have to be based on realistic expectations and conservatism. Unfortunately what’s good for corporations may not be so beneficial for workers. Companies striving for more efficiency and productivity may put more pressure on their workers to make this happen. People will be working harder. Corporations may be forced to reduce workers to adjust for greater expenditures or reduced profitability.

Our government is also a large structure that will be affected by this Saturn transit. It exists to serve the people and with Saturn transiting Capricorn cutbacks will be the order of the day. The energy of Saturn will put a limit on government action and what it provides. Trimming the budget, and reducing the deficit could be issues. Significant cuts in social programs could be another example.

Saturn’s transit through the sign of Capricorn will bring a serious mindset that demands conservatism. It will not be easy for us as a country and we have to work hard to see rewards.

Jupiter enters Scorpio

On October 10th, 2017 transiting Jupiter switched signs from Libra and into Scorpio. Jupiter takes approximately 12 years to go around the sun so it spends about a year in each sign as it travels through the 12 signs of the zodiac.

Jupiter is the planet of luck, growth, expansion abundance, arrogance and too much of a good thing. It rules the higher mind religion, philosophy, long distance travel and foreigners & foreign lands.

The sign of Scorpio has the characteristics that Jupiter will take on during the next year until it goes in Sagittarius on November 9th 2018. Scorpio is an emotional water sign that is deep, dark, passionate, intense and obsessive. It is ruled by Pluto therefore it rules sex, birth, death, transformation, crime, shared resources and other people’s money. I read one astrologer’s description as the sign of “sex, drugs and Rock n Roll”. An apt description.

It has been interesting that within one week of Jupiter entering Scorpio we have seen the sex scandals of Harvey Weinstein come under public scrutiny. Quickly followed by accusations of sexual misconduct by Trump and the “ME Too” campaign of sexual assault reports on Twitter going crazy. A few other business titans from various industries have had sexual harassment complaints made against them. This subject will likely grow (Jupiter) over course of the next year since the public is more aggressively addressing the systemic aspect of the sexual abuse (Scorpio) by powerful individuals and how we address this larger problem as a society.

As far the drug part of ‘Sex, drugs and rock N roll”. I think we will see the massive problem of the opioid addiction across our society be addressed in a much larger and direct way. On 10/15/17 a big story broke on Sixty Minutes about how the Pharmaceutical company lobbies have been able to limit the DEA’s ability to stop the illegal distribution of the prescription drugs.

Logic would say that Big Pharma must be benefiting hugely by creating an addicted society. I think with Jupiter in Scorpio these issues will become much more prominent over the course of the next year and underbelly of the Pharmaceutical industry may be revealed.

As for the rock N roll part, I’m not sure. Death (Scorpio) by Rock Star? Certainly we have lost a bunch of Rock stars already while in Libra (Prince, Tom Petty and others) but we may see that pick up in pace with these rockers dying. Sad to say the Rock N Rollers of the Baby Boom generation are getting old and all the drugs, alcohol and cigarette abuse they wholeheartedly embraced (Scorpio) are killing them off way too early. 🙁
